STADE DE FRANCE · SAINT-DENIS

France's National Stadium

Inaugurated on 28 January 1998 with a friendly between France and Spain decided by a Zinedine Zidane goal, the Stade de France was purpose-built in Saint-Denis to host the 1998 FIFA World Cup. France beat Brazil 3–0 in the final on 12 July 1998, with Zidane scoring twice. The 80,698-seat ground is the largest stadium in France and home to both Les Bleus football and rugby sides. It has since hosted the 2007 and 2023 Rugby World Cup finals, the 2022 UEFA Champions League final and the athletics at the Paris 2024 Olympics.

The Rolling Stones opened the venue for music on 25 July 1998 and returned in 2006, 2007 and 2014. U2's 360° Tour drew 96,540 spectators on 18 September 2010 after two sold-out shows the previous summer. Beyoncé and Jay-Z headlined the On the Run Tour here in 2014 and Beyoncé's Cowboy Carter Tour played three nights in June 2025. AC/DC, Coldplay, Bruce Springsteen, Rammstein and French stalwarts Indochine and Jul have all packed the bowl.
