Atlético Madrid's Modern Home
Originally inaugurated in 1994, the Estadio Metropolitano was completely redeveloped and reopened on 16 September 2017 as the new home of Atlético de Madrid. With a capacity of 70,692, it is one of Spain's largest stadiums and quickly became a UEFA Category 4 venue, hosting the 2019 UEFA Champions League final and confirmed for the 2027 final.
In 2024 Saudi carrier Riyadh Air acquired the naming rights — though UEFA continues to use the neutral name Estadio Metropolitano for European competitions. Beyond football, the stadium has welcomed stadium-tour concerts by Taylor Swift, The Rolling Stones and Bruce Springsteen.
