Madrid's Flagship Indoor Arena

The Movistar Arena Madrid, in the central Salamanca district, stands on the site of the historic Palacio de Deportes inaugurated on 8 January 1960. A devastating fire on 28 June 2001 destroyed the original building; a new arena designed by architects Enrique and José María Hernández was inaugurated on 16 February 2005.

The venue carried the name WiZink Center from 2016 and became Movistar Arena on 1 January 2025 under a naming deal with Telefónica. With capacities ranging from around 10,000 to over 17,000, it is the home court of Real Madrid Baloncesto, host of the Copa del Rey de Baloncesto and a regular stop for Spanish and international tours by artists from Beyoncé to Bruce Springsteen.
