De Schorre, Boom

De Schorre is a 75-hectare provincial recreation domain in Boom, Belgium, run by the province of Antwerp. The park grew out of the town's old clay pits, purchased by the province in 1986 and transformed into a green landscape of ponds, woods and trails. Since 2005 it has been the home of Tomorrowland, and the festival has left permanent marks on the park: the One World Bridge lined with visitors' messages, Thomas Dambo's troll forest and the mosaic Stairway to Unity.

Outside festival season De Schorre works as an everyday park, with playgrounds, sports fields, a skate park and mountain-bike trails spread across the former pits.

Getting there

De Schorre lies on the edge of Boom, a small town between Antwerp and Brussels, which makes both cities practical bases for an event here. On major festival days, organised shuttles and clearly signed routes carry visitors from the surrounding towns and stations to the park entrances; by car, follow event signage towards Boom and the designated parking areas.
