Ciudad del Rock is a 200,000 m² outdoor concert and festival ground in Arganda del Rey, south-east of Madrid, purpose-built in 2008 to host Rock in Rio Madrid. The site was developed on former industrial land with direct access from the A-3 motorway and is anchored by a 900 m² circular main stage formed by three giant sound box modules, plus a 100-metre-long World Stage fitted with around 200 solar panels.
Designed for crowds of up to 96,000, the venue has 6,000 parking spaces and a dedicated bus/Cercanías approach via Arganda. After hosting every edition of Rock in Rio Madrid (2008, 2010, 2012), it has reinvented itself as a multi-genre festival site for events such as Puro Latino Madrid Fest, large reggaeton and electronic festivals and one-off mega-concerts.
