Riyadh Air Metropolitano 2027

Riyadh Air Metropolitano, Madrid

The Riyadh Air Metropolitano is the home of Club Atlético de Madrid, in the San Blas-Canillejas district of north-east Madrid, beside the M-40 ring road and close to Barajas airport and the IFEMA fairgrounds. The stadium opened to the public on 16 September 2017 with a LaLiga match between Atlético and Málaga, replacing the club's old Vicente Calderón ground on the banks of the Manzanares.

Its capacity is 70,692 spectators, and a defining feature is the sweeping roof that covers 96 percent of the seats, concentrating noise onto the pitch on match days. Beyond football, the bowl's scale has made it a regular stop for stadium concerts and large-scale shows, and the club continues to add hospitality spaces around the seating tiers.

Getting there

The simplest route is the Madrid Metro: the Estadio Metropolitano station on Line 7 sits right beside the stadium — from Sol or Nuevos Ministerios it is a direct ride of about twenty-five minutes. On busy event days, Las Rosas (Line 2) and Canillejas (Line 5) are alternatives, each about fifteen minutes away on foot. Drivers can approach via the M-40, though public transport is the more practical option for major events.
