Abu Dhabi Hosts the Final Four Again After 2025

Abu Dhabi made EuroLeague history in May 2025 when Etihad Arena hosted the Final Four for the first time.

That edition ended with Fenerbahçe Beko Istanbul defeating AS Monaco in the championship game, securing the European title under head coach Šarūnas Jasikevičius.

The tournament attracted basketball supporters from different countries and established Abu Dhabi as a destination for major European club basketball events.

The 2027 edition represents the competition's return to a venue already familiar with the atmosphere and demands of a Final Four weekend.

Euroleague Basketball and Abu Dhabi's Department of Culture and Tourism have also confirmed that the city will host the tournament again in 2029, extending their partnership beyond the upcoming championship.

Etihad Arena: The Venue for EuroLeague Final Four 2027

Located on the waterfront at Yas Bay, Yas Island, Etihad Arena is one of the Middle East's leading indoor entertainment and sporting venues.

The multipurpose arena can accommodate up to 18,000 spectators, depending on the event configuration, and has previously hosted major international sporting competitions, concerts and entertainment productions.

Its flexible seating layout and modern indoor facilities make it particularly suitable for basketball events, with spectators positioned around the court.

The venue is also part of Yas Bay Waterfront, an entertainment district featuring restaurants, hotels and leisure facilities. Visitors attending the Final Four can combine the basketball weekend with a stay in Abu Dhabi.

For supporters travelling internationally, Yas Island also provides convenient access to Zayed International Airport and other attractions across the emirate.

Why the 2027 Final Four Matters

Unlike a regular EuroLeague fixture, the Final Four brings four championship contenders together at a neutral venue for the final stage of the season.

There are no lengthy playoff series at this point. Each semifinal is decided in a single game, and the two winners meet for the title.

That format creates a different experience for travelling supporters, with rival fan bases gathering in the same city and every possession carrying additional significance.

The return to Abu Dhabi also gives fans another opportunity to experience European basketball's championship weekend outside its traditional European host cities.
