Tiziano Ferro is an Italian singer, Grammy Award winner, songwriter, producer and writer. He made a breakthrough with his international hit single “Perdono” in 2001, and has since maintained commercial success in many countries. Ferro released a Spanish version of each of his albums and sang in English, Portuguese and French. Known as the modern face of Italian pop music, he often writes songs for other artists and produces albums for Giusy Ferreri, Alessandra Amoroso and Baby K.
In addition to his success as an artist, Tiziano Ferro is also known for his personal struggle. Overweight as a teenager, he bluntly struggled with food addiction and eating disorders. In October 2010, in the heyday of his fame, Ferro came out as a homosexual. He suffered from depression due to his self-acceptance of homosexuality.
Ferro is currently one of the best-selling artists in Italy. His third album Nessuno è solo and fourth album Alla mia età have both received diamond certification. Although he was worried, his coming out did not have a negative impact on his career, because the fifth album L’amore è una cosa semplice was the best-selling album in Italy in 2012, and his first hit album won Supported the stadium tour. As of 2015, Tiziano Ferro has sold more than 15 million records worldwide and sold thousands of tickets.
