The Chainsmokers is an American electronic DJ and production duo formed by Alexander “Alex” Pall and Andrew “Drew” Taggart. They started by releasing a mix of songs by independent artists. The EDM-pop duo made a breakthrough with their 2014 song “#Selfie”, which ranked among the top 20 in many countries. They won Grammy Awards, two American Music Awards, seven Billboard Music Awards and nine iHeartRadio Music Awards. According to Forbes’ 2019 list of the highest-paid celebrities, Chainsmokers is the highest-paid DJ, replacing Calvin Harris six years later.

The second EP Collage of the duo was released in November 2016. Their first studio album Memories…Do Not Open was released in April 2017 and topped the Billboard 200 chart in the United States. Their second album Sick Boy was released in December 2018. Their third studio album, World War Joy, was released in December 2019.
